I believe, in my lifetime, I am always striving to be refined in my nature. To be civilized, cultivated, educated, and polished is to me what it means to be a true lady. I am the lady I am in real life while in Second Life. I simply know of no other way to be and do not desire to portray myself as someone that I am not.
In Second Life, our character (who we are as a person) shines through the surface of the avatar we create. Who we are is defined by how we act toward others and what actions we carry out. While you may never know who truly is behind an avatar, you can get an idea of who they are as a person by spending time with them and getting to know them.
If asked, I believe those who know me, would agree that I am a lady in every sense of the word. I am a woman of my word. I live up to my commitments and responsibilities and care about others.
The Miss Refined International competition is exciting and this challenge is certainly going to be one way of getting to know those involved. I believe, through their words, the contestants will reveal much about their inner selves as well as how they portray themselves to others. I am looking forward to meeting other contestants and getting to know more about them and the refined people they have also become in life.
